CM Shri Chouhan takes decision to respect popular feeling
The Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the site of smart city in Bhopal will now be shifted to north TT Nagar from the earlier proposed Shivaji Nagar respecting the popular opinion and keeping intact the greenery and beauty of the area. Civic facilities in Shivraji Nagar will be further maximized, he added.
Addressing a high level review meeting on smart city proposal at Mantralaya here today, the Chief Minister said that constructing high rise building would be unjust keeping in view the greenery and aesthetic value of town planning in Shivaji Nagar. Therefore the decision of shifting the smart city site from Shivaji Nagar to North T.T. Nagar has been taken. The open flowing nullahs would be taken care of and massive plantations would be taken up, he said.
Shri Chouhan asked the concerning authorities to start necessary preparations for the new site. It may be noted here that land measuring 280 hectare is available at North T.T. Nagar while Shivaji Nagar had 332.98 acre. Residential, commercial projects and civic facilities were proposed here.
The Chief Secretary Shri Anthony De Sa, principal secretary to C.M. Shri Iqbal Singh Bains, principal secretary Shri S.K. Mishra, Commissioner Urban Development Shri Vivek Agrawal, Mayor Bhopal Shri Alok Sharma, Collector Bhopal Shri Nishant Varvade, Commissioner Nagar Nigam Smt. Chhavi Bharadwaj and senior officers attended the meeting.
