Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan addressed envoys of various countries at office of Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi today. He invited them to ideological Mahakumbh to be held from May 12 to 14 during Simhastha-2016 at Ujjain. Envoys of about 70 countries attended the programme. Mainly, envoys of Austria, Somalia, Zambia, Maldives, Guyana, Bangladesh, Brazil, Ghana, Egypt, Senegal, Bhutan, Nepal, Libya, Colombia, Korea, Sudan, Afghanistan, Greece, Singapore, Uganda, Cuba, Panama, United Kingdom etc were present on the occasion.
Shri Chouhan said that all invitee envoys will be accorded status of State Guest. Union Minister of State for External Affairs Gen. V.K. Singh, higher officers, Madhya Pradesh's ACS Shri S.R. Mohanthy, Principal Secretary Culture Shri Manoj Shrivastava and Principal Secretary to CM Shri S.K. Mishra were also present on the occasion.
Throwing light on importance of Simhastha Kumb, the Chief Minister invited the envoys. He informed that Simhastha is not an ordinary Kumbh. In it only the holy dip is not enough. Its objective is to identify and discuss global problems and find their solution. He said that all religions' essence is human welfare. It is the objective of Kumbh.
Earlier, a short film on Simhastha was screened. The film depicts historic and mythological importance of Simhastha and efforts being made by the state government to ensures its success. Special attention has been paid to convenience of devotees from India and abroad.
