Like every year, 'World No-Tobacco and No-Smoking Day' will be observed in the state on May 31. Various programmes will be held during the day to desist youths, students and masses from increasing tobacco consumption and smoking. People will be apprised of ill effects of consumption of tobacco and smoking bidis and cigarettes on health.
Social Justice and Disabled Welfare Department has directed all collectors, SPs, CEOs of Zila Panchayats and officers of the department to ensure observance of 'World No-Tobacco Day'. On the day, seminars, rallies, poster exhibitions, debate, essay, quiz, painting competitions, street plays, song and dance programmes etc will be held in districts to apprise people of ill effects of consumption of tobacco and smoking.
